Winter 2024 Recreational Class Registration

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please read the Campia's COVID-19 Safety Plan and Campia's Recreational Policy Document prior to registering for a class.

Please ensure that your child’s online profile is up-to-date with current medical conditions, allergies and both primary and emergency contact numbers.  Should we need to reach you, these are the numbers we will use.


Welcome to Campia's Winter 2024 Session! 

This session will run Saturday, January 6 - Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Registration Dates:

Priority Registration - Wednesday, November 15 at 12:00pm (Members registered in the Fall 2023 Recreational Programming)

Member Registration – Thursday, November 16 at 12:00pm (Members registered in Summer 2023 Programming)

General Public Registration – Friday, November 17 at 12:00pm (Open to the general public)

Please note: athletes must meet the minimum age requirement of the class prior to the session start date

Additional Annual Fees (non-refundable):

Gymnastics NL Membership Fee ($46.60/athlete) is valid July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024 

Campia's Membership Fee ($30/family) is valid September 1, 2023 - August 31, 2024

Winter Equipment Fee ($20/athlete) is valid January 6 - June 19, 2024

  • Registration is completed online via Uplifter. 
  • If your desired class is full, please ensure you place your child on a waitlist. Please note that schedules are subject to change based on program demand.
  • Children must be the age outlined in the class description prior to the start of their first class.

Fall 2023 Recreational Classes:

 

Super Babies – Age: 6 – 12 Months (40 minutes) 

A 40-minute class of safe exploration and discovery through semi structured imaginative play with an accompanying parent/guardian. This class is designed to assist your child’s social and cognitive development as well as developing coordination, balance, confidence and gross motor skills such as walking, running, jumping, climbing and swinging.  Campia’s Super Babies class provides your child with a quality movement experience introducing them to an active early childhood which we hope will lead to an active and healthy life.

 

Superhero & Sidekick – Age: 1 – 3 (45 minutes)

This 45-minute class is an introduction for both toddler and parents to physical literacy through gymnastics.  This class is designed to encourage parent-child interaction and provides a fun and safe environment for your ‘sidekick’ to explore various gymnastics apparatus.  You, their ‘Superhero’, will aid your child, providing them with assistance on equipment and helping to keep them safe with the guidance and supervision of a certified coach.  This class is designed to assist your child’s social and cognitive development as well as developing coordination, balance, confidence and gross motor skills such as running, jumping, climbing and swinging.  Campia’s Superhero & Sidekick classes provide your child with a quality movement experience introducing them to an active early childhood which we hope will lead to an active and healthy life.

 

Mini Hero – Age: 3 – 4 (45 minutes)

This 45-minute class is for independent 3 and 4 year olds who are ready to move into a gym class without a parent or caregiver.  This class provides just the right amount of structure to teach children to listen and follow directions while maintaining a safe environment promoting the Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals of gymnastics.  Your Mini Hero will experience a consistent class routine where they will begin to learn gymnastics terminology and skill progressions.  Through age-appropriate activities, circuits and play your Mini Hero will build on their motor skills, balance and coordination.  Mini Heroes are introduced to all six fundamental movement patterns of gymnastics and progress at their own pace, while being constantly challenged by our qualified coaching staff. Mini Heroes receive a certificate of achievement at the end of each session.  As children in this class participate without their parent, they will also experience the joy of independence and gain confidence providing the perfect stepping-stone into our Mighty Hero program.

 

Mighty Hero – Age 5 (60 minutes)

This 60-minute class is for children age 5.  Mighty Heroes will continue to develop physical literacy skills that are at the core of all sports while focusing on the fundamental movement patterns of gymnastics; swings, springs, landings, locomotion, stationary positions and rotations.  In this class, your Mighty Hero will experience a consistent class routine where they will continue to learn and develop skill progressions as well as be introduced to concepts of flexibility, strength and conditioning.  Mighty Heroes will progress at their own pace while being constantly challenged by our qualified coaching staff.  

 

Hero Academy I – Age: 6 – 12 (75 minutes)

Campia's CanGym program is based on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs: Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals. This is a progressive badge program for new and returning participants ages 6 – 12 who are working on their Burgundy, Red & Tan badge levels. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

Hero Academy II – Age: 6 – 12 (75 minutes)

Hero Academy II focuses on the following badges: Bronze and Purple.

Campia's CanGym program is based on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs: Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals. This is a progressive badge program for boys and girls used by most gymnastics clubs in Canada.

The CanGym program includes 3 levels of skill progressions. Within each of these levels there are different badges which help to break gymnastics skills down into achievable steps. Individuals can advance through the badges at the pace most appropriate for them. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

Hero Academy III – Age: 6 – 12 (75 minutes)

Hero Academy III focuses on the next level of badges: Blue, Turquoise and Silver.

Campia's CanGym program is based on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs: Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals. This is a progressive badge program for boys and girls used by most gymnastics’ clubs in Canada.

The CanGym program includes 3 levels of skill progressions. Within each of these levels there are different badges which help to break gymnastics skills down into achievable steps. Individuals can advance through the badges at the pace most appropriate for them. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

Hero Academy IV – Age: 6 – 14 (120 minutes)

Hero Academy is designed for those who have achieved their Silver badge or higher.

Campia has made adaptations to CanGym’s Gold level badge program to focus on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs: Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals. Within this program are four levels that help break gymnastics skills into achievable steps. Individuals can advance through levels at the pace most appropriate for them. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

Hero Academy Boys – Age: 6 – 12 (75 minutes)

Campia's CanGym program is based on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs: Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals. This is a progressive badge program for new and returning participants ages 6 – 12 who are working on all badge levels. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

Home School Hero Academy  - Ages from 5 - 14  (75 minutes) 

Children who are homeschooled can develop their fitness skills in a “ Fun, Fitness, Fundamentals” type of class. We progressively introduce gymnastics skills, developing coordination, strength, flexibility and balance.

Campia's CanGym program is based on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs: Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals. This is a progressive badge program for boys and girls used by most gymnastics clubs in Canada.

 

Jump Academy (Trampoline) – Age: 7 – 10 (60 minutes)

Jump Academy is a beginner program for recreational trampoline. Participants will focus solely on developing trampoline skills and not other gymnastics apparatus. CanJump is a progressive program for boys and girls. Participants will learn trampoline skills under the direction of a Trampoline certified Gymnastics coach. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

Jump Academy (Trampoline) – Age: 11 – 16 (60 minutes)

Jump Academy is a beginner program for recreational trampoline. Participants will focus solely on developing trampoline skills and not other gymnastics apparatus. CanJump is a progressive program for boys and girls. Participants will learn trampoline skills under the direction of a Trampoline certified Gymnastics coach. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

Teen Titans – Age: 13 – 17 (75 minutes)

Campia's CanGym program is based on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs: Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals. This is a co-ed class for teens age 13 – 17 years old; all skill levels (new and returning participants) where they will advance through the various CanGym National badge levels at the pace most appropriate for them. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.
