Summer 2019 Recreational Classes Registration

 

Current Members Registration – Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 12:00pm

A Current Member is a participant who has been registered in at least one program with Campia since September 2018.

 

New Members Registration – Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 12:00pm

Important Note for New Members registering for Recreational Classes:

Once your registration is complete you will receive an invoice for new member annual fees: $30 Campia’s Annual Family Membership (applied to family) and $35 Gymnastics Newfoundland and Labrador Annual Membership (applied to individual athletes). This amount must be paid in full within one week of registering.

 

Summer 2019 Recreational Classes

 

Kanga & Roo and Tiggers Too - 30 minute class 

This class is structured to encourage parent/child interaction in a gymnastics environment. You will aid your child by providing assistance and helping to keep your child safe with guidance and supervision of a certified coach. The gymnastics environment is designed to assist with your child’s social and cognitive development as well as developing gross motor skills in a safe, fun and encouraging environment through age-appropriate gymnastics skills. Circuits and gymnastics apparatus are used to promote exploration while teaching skills such as swinging, jumping and climbing. These skills begin the process of body awareness and physical development. Kanga & Roo and Tumbling Tiggers will provide your child with a quality movement experience introducing them to an active early childhood, which we hope will lead to an active and healthy life.

 

Mini Monkeys - 45 minute class 

This class provides just the right amount of structure to teach children to listen and follow directions while maintaining an environment promoting the Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals of gymnastics. Your “mini monkey” will experience a consistent class routine where they will be introduced to a variety of age-appropriate gymnastics skills. Children will progress at their own pace while being constantly challenged by our qualified coaching staff. As children at this age are ready to participate in classes without their parents they will experience the joy of independence providing the stepping-stone into our Recreational CanGym Program. The foundation for future gymnastics learning is laid in this coed program.

 

Mighty Monkeys - 60 minute class

Mighty Monkeys Intermediate is a 60 minute structured class for children 5 – 6 years old, where participants continue to learn the foundation skills and are introduced to and begin evaluation based on the CanGym National Badge Program.

Campia’s CanGym program is based on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs; fun fitness fundamentals. This is a progressive badge program used by most gymnastics clubs across Canada.  

 

Mighty Monkeys - Boys Only - 60 minute class

Mighty Monkeys - Boys is a 60 minute structured class for boys 5 – 6 years old, where participants continue to learn the foundation skills and are introduced to and begin evaluation based on the CanGym National Badge Program.

Campia’s CanGym program is based on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs; fun fitness fundamentals. This is a progressive badge program used by most gymnastics clubs across Canada.  

This class is for new or returning male participants working on the Burgundy, Red, Tan and Bronze level badges who will receive instruction on the apparatus specific to men’s artistic gymnastics. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

Mighty Monkeys Intermediate - 60 minute class

Mighty Monkeys Intermediate is a 60 minute structured class for children 5 – 6 years old, where participants continue to learn the foundation skills and are introduced to and begin evaluation based on the CanGym National Badge Program.

This class is for returning participants who have passed their Bronze level badge. They will continue to develop foundation skills and build new skills of the intermediate levels; purple, blue, turquoise and silver badge levels. Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

This class is for returning participants who have passed their Bronze level badge.

 

CanGym Beginner I - 75 minute class (Age 7 - 12)

CanGym Beginner I focuses on the following badge levels: Burgundy, Red and Tan.

CanGym Beginner I/II Combo Class - 75 minute class (Age 7 - 12) Summer Only - Daytime Classes

CanGym Beginner II/Intermediate Combo - 75 minute class (Age 7 - 12) Summer Only - Daytime Classes

CanGym Intermediate focuses on the following badge levels: Purple, Blue, Turquoise and Silver.

CanGym Intermediate - 75 minute class (Age 7 - 12)

CanGym Intermediate focuses on the following badge levels: Blue, Turquoise and Silver.

Can Gym Boys Only - All Levels - 75 minute class  (Age 7 - 12) 

CanGym Boys Only class is for all badge levels and follows the National CanGym Program with a focus on apparatus specific to Men's Artistic Gymnastics.

Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

CanGym Advanced - 120 minute class (Age 7 - 14)

CanGym Advanced focuses on the following badge levels: Orange, Yellow, Green and Gold

Can Gym Teen - 75 minute class (Age 13 - 16) 

CanGym Teen class is for all badge levels where participants will advance through the various badge levels at the pace most appropriate for them. 

Campia's CANGYM program is based on Gymnastics Canada’s three philosophical pillars for all recreational programs: Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals. This is a progressive badge program for boys and girls used by most gymnastics clubs in Canada.

CanJump - 60 minute class (Age 7 - 10)

CanJump – This is a 60 minute co-ed recreational trampoline class for participants 7 – 10 years of age.  Participants will focus solely on developing trampoline skills.  Participants do not use other gymnastics apparatus. They will learn and develop trampoline skills while progressing through a 25 level Gymnastics Canada CanJump badge program.

Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

CanJump - 60 minute class (Age 11 - 16)

CanJump – This is a 60 minute co-ed recreational trampoline class for participants 11 – 16 years of age.  Participants will focus solely on developing trampoline skills.  Participants do no use other gymnastics apparatus. They will learn and develop trampoline skills while progressing through a 25 level Gymnastics Canada CanJump badge program.

Progress reports are distributed at the end of our sessions and aid in monitoring the progress of each individual.

 

Acro for Dance - Beginner Class - 60 minute class (Age 6 - 12) -- Class day/time will be added prior to registration opening

No experience required. This is the ideal class for aspiring dancers of all skill levels. Participants will work on tumbling skills such as handstands, cartwheels, front and back walkovers, round-offs. 

 

Acro for Dance - Advanced Class - 60 minutes (Age 8 - 14) -- Class day/time will be added prior to registration opening

Participants will work on skills like aerials and back handsprings, front handsprings, back tucks and more.

 

 

RECREATIONAL POLICIES: 


Refund Policy: Once registered; a refund request form must be completed and submitted in person or by email to Campia Gymnastics. Refund deadline is 1 week after the first day of the session. Verbal notification and/or non-attendance will not constitute discontinuation. A refund for remaining class fees less the non-refundable Annual Memberships (GNL and Campia) and $25 admin fee will be paid. If discontinuation occurs due to injury or medical condition a refund request form must be submitted along with a physician’s note and a refund will be issued for remaining class fees less the non-refundable Annual Memberships (GNL and Campia). A refund request form is available at the Front Desk during regular office hours or can be emailed to you upon request.

NOTE: Campia Gymnastics reserves the right to cancel class offering that are not full and place participants in another appropriate class time. 

CANCELLATION POLICY/STORM CLOSURES: 
Campia closures follow closely the decisions of NLESD for school closures but will be based on weather conditions throughout the day as well. For updates please visit Campia's Facebook or Twitter. Emails will be sent to all participants once closure decisions are made. Classes cancelled due to weather or circumstances beyond our control will not be rescheduled. 

Equipment Maintenance Fee: To help offset the cost of equipment maintenance and new purchases to provide safe, quality programming for all our members, a $10 fee for all Campia members is included in class fees. 

Disciplinary: Campia coaches work to keep the environment in the gym safe, friendly and respectful. Disruptive behaviour from any participant will not be tolerated. Harassment, inappropriate language, bullying of any kind is unacceptable. Our instructors set clear boundaries and expectations as to appropriate conduct and should action need to be taken due to a child’s continuous interruptions of the positive atmosphere or ongoing disregard for the rules, parents will be notified. Disruptive behaviour will be documented and if continued may result in dismissal and/or refusal to accept participant into future classes. We ask your cooperation in providing a positive experience for all members. 

Waitlist: If the class you want is full, you can waitlist.  You are not required to pay for any waitlisted classes unless a space becomes available.  You can waitlist for any number of time slots that you wish.  Alternatively, you can register and pay for an available class and waitlist for your preferred class.  If a space becomes available, you will be contacted and transferred to your preferred class.  You will be contacted by phone if a class becomes available.  Once contacted, you will have the remainder of that business day to accept and pay for your class.  The following business day your waitlisted space will expire and we offer the space to the next waitlisted individual.  If we are able to secure more coaches and have space available in the gym, every effort will be made to add more classes and additional time slots. Waitlists are not carried over from session to session. 

Drop Off/Pick Up: Classes commence and end promptly at the scheduled times. Please do not drop your child off early without supervision. Campia/coaches are not responsible for children until they are called to the gym floor. All participants under the age of 7 must have a parent/caregiver present on premises for the duration of their class. 

Viewing: 

Viewing is permitted from the viewing areas only. There are viewing areas in the Main Lobby and Upstairs. With the exception of Parent and tot classes (Kanga & Roo, Tumbling Tiggers and Leaping Lemurs); parents, visitors and spectators are not permitted in the gym.

Photography and Video Recording:

For the safety and privacy of all children and coaches, videography and photography are strictly prohibited.

Washroom Use Policy:

Children under 5 years of age will be brought out to the parent or caregiver to use the public washroom upstairs.

Allergies: 
Our facility is nut free and scent free. Our allergy list changes based upon the registered members for each session. Please ensure you have advised our front desk staff of any other allergies your child(ren) may have. We have identified the following allergies to be present: peanuts, tree nuts, kiwi, latex, fish, chic peas (Hummus), lentils. Please refrain from bringing food into the facility that may contain the above items.
